SummaryFor this project, we first had to choose a world problem to address. My group chose overpopulation to address because it seemed the most interesting. After that we had to brainstorm solutions to the problem we chose. We were told to write down every idea that came to mind no matter how crazy it seemed. We ended up with some pretty crazy ideas such as the Hunger Games and World War III. Another idea we came up with was land development which led us to think about underwater housing, underground housing, space colonization, and TREEHOUSES!! We all agreed that treehouses was the most interesting that was also realistic, so we decided to focus on that. Then, we had to design it and research how it was good. We then made a slide show and a presentation and presented it to the class. Reflection
One thing that made this project different from the others we have done this semester is that we were allowed to pick who our teammates were rather than it being random. This was both a positive and a negative. It was a positive because we all ended up with our friends so it was one of the most fun projects. It was a negative because we all ended up with our friends so it was hard to stay focused and on track.
Another positive was that I found out that my teammates and I work well together and are good at compensating for each other's flaws. Another negative is that we could have done more research and communicated better. |
Concepts
The main and most important concept we used in this project was the Engineering Design Cycle:
